Covering My Sin

Wow! Where do I sign up for this plan? Love covers my sin. The early part of 1 Peter 4 focuses on having us stop sinning. Oy, I keep failing at that. Pride, lust, selfishness, greed, anger and the list goes on – I find it disheartening to read about our goal being sinless. There is only one who is without sin, there is only one who is perfect and no matter how hard I try I will never attain that, so instead of constantly feeling guilty about it, I will, instead cover my sins with love for others!
On second thought, is deep love for others, some of whom might be really hard to love, any easier than not sinning? No. Therefore, I will keep trying to lead a better life AND love others more deeply. I will fail a little at both but at least be headed in the right direction.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please forgive me of my sins, I must try harder to live a life pleasing to You. I must also make every effort to love others more deeply, have more patience and care about them. As You do for me, I will try to do for others.
