Only Way to Completely Rest
Aaron Cordeiro“It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your Sabbath.” (Leviticus 23:32)
God was very serious about the Sabbath in these days, and we can learn a lot from it. Sabbath was a day unto the Lord for rest. There were other Sabbaths built in like on the tenth day of the seventh month a Sabbath of complete rest, only through humbling your soul. When is the last time you humbled your soul? When is the last time you connected humility to rest? I’ve never seen this before. God set this as a command to humble yourself and not work at all, but those who violated this would be cut off. In other word’s pride will not only keep you from a complete rest it will infect your family culture. Humility of soul invites the Lord to be with you and fill you to the overflow.
I’ve never seen this before, but I recall experiencing this the other night during twenty-four-hour prayer time at New Hope Oahu. Our prayer team facilitates a prayer time once a month that spans twenty-four hours of prayer with twenty-four people praying an hour each. It is mostly made up staff from New Hope Oahu. I had an 8-9pm slot and had a wonderful time of prayer in the presence of the Lord praying for various things. I was personally wrestling with a few issues and came to the point of humility, humbling myself under the mighty hand of God as the Bible says, and found complete rest. God knows what I need more than I know what I need. He designed us to rest to heal, process, and come back to Him. The only way to adequately do this is humility of soul and finding rest in Him.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your rest and showing me the pathway to resting in You. You complete me Lord, and nothing else. I love you so much. Amen
