Rod Shimabukuro2Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, 9 for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Paul recognizes the resurrection life and power of Jesus, gladly and willingly enduring the pains of suffering for the Gospel. He associates his sufferings as an evildoer, willing to be imprisoned, even to death for the sake of the people of God (elect) to obtain their salvation. Paul is willing to be the living expression of endurance and suffering for the Gospel and body of Christ!
Botton Line Life Application for me…is a question. Rod, are you willing to commit, endure, suffer, even give your life for the sake of the Gospel and the family of God?
To the Lord, by His grace and power…I say, “Here I am.” For so my Lord lived, died, was raised to life…for me to become family!
Oh Holy Father. Thank you for Your heart of love for me, to send Your only begotten Son, to live, endure, suffer and die…for me to become family! I love you Daddie, Jesus, Holy Spirit…and I want to live with this kind of love, even to death, for You and the family of God.
