The Anger Virus
Marsha KochiProverbs 22:
24 Do not associate with a man given to anger; Or go with a hot-tempered man, 25 Or you will learn his ways And find a snare for yourself.
Solomon warns us not to associate with an angry person. We must not sit with them, spend time or build a relationship with them. We'll start to be in agreement with that angry person. Soon we will always be angry, we will become bitter, and impatient and take on the same character.
Anger can work in such destructive ways in a persons life. Even thoughts when angered, brings about such ugliness. You can never quiet settle, there is always something that is stirred up because of anger. When we entertain anger, we seek revenge, we become critical, we don't allow ourselves to forgive, we may complain and the list can go on and on. Westart to say and do things that we wouldn't ordinarily. This is a good reminder for me to stay focussed on being grateful. If I truly am walking with the Lord, then I should be changed. If so, then automatically I have to always choose to not let anger cause me to sin. No matter what I go through, I have to choose to live my life in gratefulness and in love. To exhibit self control and patience.
Father, help me to be a person that loves, smiles, praises, forgives and thanks more. No one wants to be around angry people. Help me to not be that angry person or to be influenced by an angry person. Keep me vaccinated with the Word; that will prevent me from contracting the anger virus.
