Listening to His Voice
Marsha Kochi1 Samuel 28:15
“Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am greatly distressed; for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has departed from me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I should do."
Saul knows that he is In a bad place. God no longer answers him. He doesn't know what to do, he seeks a medium to bring Samuel up, so he can ask him for advice.
In my mind I'm thinking if God is not answering you, what makes you think that anyone else would have the answer. Saul's dependence upon this medium, dreams and prophets had become the voices that were now familiar to him. He listened to people, and they determined what his next move would be. Saul could no longer hear the voice of God. It was probably a very scary time for Saul to be out of Gods covering, and out of touch with Him. I don't ever want to be caught up in what people say, or anything that I hear that may throw me for a loop. I want to hear His direction, not the things that would mute His Voice.
Thank You Lord for reminding me of the voices that I must stay away from, and Your Voice that clearly directs me to the right path.
