His Love Endures Forever!
Carl HigashiPsalm 106:1, 47-48
1 Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
47 Save us, LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.48 Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, "Amen!" Praise the LORD.
In this psalm of praise, the psalmist reminds us to give thanks to the Lord. He reminds God's people that He is good and that His love for them is forever! In the best of times and the worst of times praise should be given to God, because He loves us no matter what the circumstance, no matter what the situation, no matter if I am doing well or not!
Prior to verse 47, after a slew of verses showing the life the Israelites lived with God it reflects their love and thankfulness, but also their rebellion and ungratefulness in their lives. They are removed from life threatening situations and given promises that only God could get them out of and fulfill. Yet when things got better, they forgot to thank Him for what He had given them. Verse 47 reminds us that we need to remember those amazing acts of God's loving kindness, His power to deliver on all His promises, His miracles He allows us to see and participate in, the enemies He has defeated for us, and that we are to live out our lives for His glory and honor.
Praise is to be given to God and God alone for all things and by all people of every nation always remembering all His mighty deeds.
The Lord reminds me today that I need to remember all the wonderful things He has done in my life and give praise to Him for them! Here's a short list:
1. Life and that I get to live it with understanding my purpose!
2. A beautiful wife (Frances) that is truly beautiful from the inside out and lives our Proverbs 31 daily!
3. Two beautiful daughters (Emi and Mari) that I so enjoy and have fun with each. I'm thankful for the diversity in each of them and the amazing gifting and passion in each of them.
The Lord reminds me today that the best way to get out of a rut, a bad situation is to remember He is good and he has given me huge blessings that will indeed endure forever because of His love for me and my family!
Good and gracious Father, only You are worthy to be praised! Lord I am thankful for you are good! The gifts that You have given me are priceless and I am grateful for them and knowing that even in the worst of circumstance, I will always be victorious with You in eternity!
Love You Lord! Thank you for your love and goodness! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
