Listen!
Carl HigashiActs 16:6-7
6 And they passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;
7 and when they had come to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them…
After much success in expanding and strengthening the church Paul and Silas separate from Barnabas and John Mark. Paul and Silas then brought on Timothy at Derbe and Lystra and the churches increased in their faith and numbers.
Just as the expansion of the church was going well, at Phrygian and Galatia, they were prompted by the Holy Spirit not to speak the word in Asia, then again were prevented to enter Bithynia.
Paul in tune with the Holy Spirit recognizes that they were called not to preach in Asia and into Bithynia, instead he gets a vision to go to Macedonia.
Sensitivity to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit is crucial! As we just started the 7 Rules of Success, Rule Number 1 is: Listen. God is speaking at all times, am I listening? Or am I just doing things that are “good.” God doesn’t ask me just to do “good" stuff, but wants me to be moving with the Holy Spirit who is speaking to me at all times. Am I listening?!
In this “busy” season, I must slow down, go to the quiet place, that I may hear His voice clearly. May I do as the scripture memory verse says in Success Rule Number 1: Listen
19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.(Jam 1:19-20 NAS)
Lord hear my confession that I need to hear You more, by deliberately seeking You. I repent of getting too busy to hear your voice at times. I thank you for your forgiveness and the grace upon my life and I ask that You guide me by your Holy Spirit and that I might be fully listening! May my sensitivity to your Holy Spirit increase in this season as I know You are speaking, may your servant always be listening.
Love You Lord!
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
