Lost for words, called to worship
Rod Shimabukuro24As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is what he promised us—eternal life. 1 John 2
It’s just so intriguing to me how God uses John to continue to write on themes of the Word, light darkness, recognizing, receiving and remaining in Christ. It seems to confirm the authorship of John in writing the Gospel of John and these letters (1, 2, 3 John).
I see some of these familiar themes in Ch. 2. but the one that catches my heart today is V.24-25 This passage also reflects similar themes/truths with the Gospel of John. Abiding, remaining in Jesus. The oneness relationship of the Son and Father. The promise of eternal life. John writes…”what you have heard from the beginning” could also include a reference to what he wrote earlier in John - the Gospel.
Interesting the progression of us hearing truth, to remain is us…”if it does” we will remain in Jesus and in the Father! Implied is our ongoing responsibility to remain in, abide in Him. To do our part to not just live FOR Jesus, but to live IN Jesus!
My application is simple in words - deep and profound in spirit, i amy heart. That is…I’m called to WORSHIP, adoring and thanking Jesus, the Father and Spirit - for abiding in me!
So GOD…Daddie, Jesus and Spirit…
I love You all, I worship and thank You all! I can’t express enough and with any eloquence - my deepest hearts awe…of YOU ALL! I’m flooded, overwhelmed…by YOU ALL! I LOVE YOU ALL! I WORSHIP YOU ALL! I THANK YOU ALL! OH GOD………… I’m lost for words, but called to WORSHIP YOU!
