God’s Plan Still Golden
John TiltonActs 2:42-43
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.
Peter’s admonishing and teaching the people about the Holy Spirit descending, about the last days and Jesus the Savior; the people were moved and devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread with one another and prayer. Subsequently, they witnessed many wonders and signs performed by the apostles, which as we know was God moving and working through them. I surmise that it was the Holy Spirit moving because of their dedication to Christ, their learning the word and living it out through the fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer together. Where God’s people are wholly dedicated to Him, God will move. God’s plan that was given then, is still good now.
These scriptures move me in that I know that God has been so faithful to our church and me. Yet, have I been faithful to Him in following his will in obedience to His plan, which is continuously being immersed in His Word, learning more about Him, fellowshipping with others to affirm and build one another up, breaking of bread together and being dedicated and devoted to time in prayer? I can do better! I am continuously reminded of my anal, tasky, get “er” done propensity that perhaps lacks the state-of-mind and intentionality in the relational and fellowship time, or taking the proper time to seek and dwell with the Lord in prayer. I realize that I also have to create a Holy environment in my life and how I spend it that will invite the Lord in to perform wonders and signs. I need to clean my house and prepare it so that the Lord will dwell and move within me and around me.
Dear Lord, thank you for spurring me to take a look at my life in terms of your plan for me and how I daily prepare, and intentionally make my life an invitation for you to move in my life and our church. I know that I am an integral part of the church body of New Hope Oahu and the body at large. Guide me as I clean my heart and my house to welcome you in.
