Living By Faith
Calvin Kochi16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”.” Romans 1:16-17
This verse immediately jumped out as I read the words for I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. It comes as a challenge for me to live out my faith publicly, and with out reservations and being ashamed for publicly declaring Jesus as my Lord. Yet at the same time you can publicly declare Jesus as Lord, but not live it out in a way that people can see your faith in fact they are turned off by your witness.
As I reflect upon my life the question to me is how I gauge my walk with the Lord. Am I willing to live unashamedly for the Lord, and Do people see Jesus by the way that I live. I can preach all I want and say all the right things, but am I truly living it iDo I live in a way that others say wow what is it about that guy that responds and reacts to difficult situation in ways that bring a peace and comfort when he is around. I have walked in to places where as soon as you walk into that place something is noticeably different about it, and you find out that they are Christians. My desire is to live in that way. That is why it is said that the righteous man shall live by faith. Is my faith visible though my actions?
Thank you Lord for the Gospel message and the power it has to save and transform my life. The power of Your Word is what gives me the faith to live out each day. It gives me the strength to live differently because of what I have read. It is the power of Your word that helps me to live out my faith.
