Judgement

Marsha Kochi

Scripture

Romans 2:1“Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.”

Observation

The bible tells us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. We need to be careful of being judgmental towards others. We are not perfect, we will make mistakes. We want to give grace as we would want grace extended to us.

Application

A good reminder of not being critical of others. It's always good to remember that the same way I react to people, how I judge them, would be the same as they would me. I don't want to be one that looks at everyone and not look at myself. I once heard Joyce Meyer say, "we look at everybody else through a magnifying glass, but we look at ourselves through rose-colored glasses." I don't want to have the mentality that there is absolutely no excuse if others make mistakes, but when I do, I make an excuse.

Prayer

Father help me to be aware of the areas in me, that need to be dealt with, and help me to refuse to sit in judgment of others. Let me see the good in people, not the bad.
