Scripture

14Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Hebrews 2

Observation

Themed thoughout the letter of Hebrews is the magnified Jesus. Purposed in the love of God, redemption includes an exchange. It’s a freedom exchange. The bondage of sin and death in exchange for freedom and life. From slaves and children of flesh and blood, humanity has been offered freedom from the power of the death - that is the devil!

How? Jesus shared in our humanity!

Application

It’s far too huge for me to even imagine the human-God...Jesus! The thought of God Himself, revealed as human - to not just appear to fulfill the assignment of freeing enslaved creation. He lived among His creation...patiently learning, enduring, interacting with everyday people - for about 30 years!!! And then He comes out of “hiding” to live, teach as the human-Son of God!

I desire to live in light of this revelation - that I am freed from my sins (Rev 1:5) and being enslaved to the devil and all spiritual darkness! The biggest takeaway for me is to live gratefully, as a worshiper of Jesus - for who He is, having sacrificed His life for me as God’s perfect Son, here on earth as a Man of God!

Prayer

Thank you Jesus - for being the Perfect Man of God! For Your human willingness as the God Man, to give Your life for my lostness and sin! I love You - I love You - I love You!!!! Oh how I need You and Love You :)
