Smelly, Yukky and Loved

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

Observation

Since we have the promises (2 Cor 6:16-18) of God being our Father, walking with us, dwelling among us, us being family: sons and daughters...let’s repent! Paul is fearless about his instructions - his commands to live out our holiness in the fear of the God.

Knowing God as Father - being family - having a security and confidence that as Lord Almighty (6:16-18) of my life - my Father God loves me, walks with me, lives with me!! Smelly, Yukky me...is accepted and assured...“SINCE I HAVE THESE PROMISES...!” God is calling me to live out my part. To live wholly and holy for Him.

Application

Speaking of Smelly-Yukky Me. Malia’s hockey gear smelled like poop as she loaded up the car - to go to her game! Then after the game - she smelled too :) But I will never stop loving my Princess! She is my daughter! I would give my life for my daughter!

I know this is my Father’s heart and commitment to me. No matter how Yukky-Smelly I am...since I have these promises, I want to continue cleansing my life, ridding my heart and ways of areas NOT HOLY TO HIM!

Prayer

Daddie -
In love and in fear...I give my heart and life to You again! Thank You for Your everlasting love. For Your eternal covenant of grace. Thank You for not holding my sins and yukkiness against me. Jesus - Jesus...! I Love You! I Worship You! I Adore You! Help me Spirit of God to live a life of integrity, holiness in the fear of God.
