Love Is Jesus

John Tilton

Scripture

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Observation

These scriptures of love vastly and succinctly portray the heart, character and actions of Jesus. Each word in these scriptures can spawn pages and books of content describing the related attributes, examples and illustrations. The scriptures guide us in the do’s and don’ts that cover the expanse of the heart of Jesus and how we should live in our character, therefore exemplifying the heart of Jesus.

Application

These scriptures bring a peace over me and quell my soul just to read them. They immediately set my heart on knowing and understanding who I should strive to be in terms of character and personal attributes, even if I at times cannot portray, example and live out all that is exampled here in Christ. For it is then that His grace that is so forgiving to keep me back on course of striving to live a life after His own heart, abounds. Just reading these scriptures enlightens my soul and heart.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank you that you came. Thank you that you died on the cross for my sins. Thank you that you exampled, walked out and continue to set forth your love that surpasses all understanding that I/we might have the peace and eternal life to walk and live with you in our heart. I pray that I will always live with a heart after your heart. You are truly love!
