The Heart Not The Brains To Receive

John Tilton

Scripture

Matthew 11:25-26 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

Observation

Jesus proclaims the truth so succinctly that it is not our brains or success that will save us with a relationship with Jesus Christ where we will learn the nuggets and treasures of truth for eternal life, but rather a heart to receive and know Jesus. It is the children and their innocence with open hearts that take truth at face value and therefore are receiving and accepting rather the doubting and skeptical with much baggage of self, life and pride challenging the truth that his presented for receiving.

Application

I need to always remember to take the world and my own ways out of what is presented to me the names and presence of Jesus. My greatest guide is the Lord’s word in the Bible, that I His truth and will would be revealed to me, and that all my years of learning and college degrees will not enable me to see and receive what God is willing and wanting to reveal to me.

Prayer

Dear Lord, that you for KISS, keeping is succinctly simple, that I would rely on your word to enable me to see you and your truths, like children who take matters at face value, which is why they are so precious and to be protected. May you always protect me with your angels and your guide of the word to give me insight.
