Jesus Kingdom Reign

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 11:15 ESV

Observation

When interpreting various passages in Revelation, I believe the theme of this verse should be considered. Among all the visions, symbolism and apocalyptic references - the fact that Jesus will reign forever should be a primary focus of interpretation. The kingdom of this world is not our home and God’s wrath and judgment is evident - and so is the establishing of the kingdom of our Lord!

Application

I’m so very - very grateful that God has saved me from the kingdom of this world into His Kingdom. From darkness to light, from sin to sanctification - Jesus will reign forever and so will I with him. But my reigning will be as a worshiper and lover of the Godhead.

There’s some “worldly kingdom” stuff that lives in me. My sin nature longs to establish and reestablish “my rights.” My confession and faith in Christ says… I no longer run my kingdom - but my life is of the kingdom of Jesus. Jesus kingdom reign is in my heart. I desire my words, heart, motives, thoughts - to be affected by His Kingdom reign in my life!

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus!

Thank You for Your kingdom reign in my life! Forever is a long-long time - and I get to live in and witness Your reign forever and ever!
