“I’ll Guide you into Truth”

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

John 16:12“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Observation

I am blown away! I do see through a lens, searching the Scriptures for God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The triune relationship of God, 3 in 1 is more than complex, comprehensive and astonishing! Here I see their relationship again in ch. 16.

  • Jesus has more to say
  • Jesus submits to the Spirit to continue speaking truth
  • The Spirit is submitted to Jesus - He does not speak on His own
  • All the Father has is Jesus’ - What is the Spirits, comes from Jesus - then made known to us, His disciples.
Application

WOWZAH!
One take away for me to live by, is to realize that I’m in process. There’s volumes that could be written of Jesus. Even Jesus says He has more to “say/speak.” It’s more than his disciples could bear, at the time.

So I hear the Lord saying to me: "Rod, I will guide you, speak to you…one day, one moment at a time. There’s much I can unload on you, but it would be more than you could bear. So trust Me to guide you, Beckie…into truth. I will make known what you should know an live by."

Prayer

Dear Father, Jesus and Spirit…
Thank you for this word of encouragement and guidance! Thank you for not over burdening me, but I receive Your overwhelming love, grace and words! I Love You all!
