When did Jesus become real to you?

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

John 20:28-29 (NIV)

28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Observation

Explain Irony:

For three years, Jesus walked in the flesh with the disciples, but it’s not until His death and resurrection does Jesus really become real to them.

The Bible describes Thomas as the one who always doubted. It’s only when Jesus appears to Him after the resurrection and says, “Peace be with you, put your finger here into my side.” It was only then that Jesus became real to Thomas.

Paul full of zeal and persecuting the Christians for believing in Jesus Christ. It was on the road to Damascus that Jesus became real to Paul. It totally changed his live around. Paul ends up writing more then half the books in the New Testament.

So many stories in the Bible of changed lives, souls transformed, all because of one event. Since then I’ve blessed to witness, to be a part of so many changed lives in this world, all because of one event.

Let me ask you, “When did Jesus become real to you?”

Application

In everyones life there lives a moment of truth for when Jesus became real, a testimony that changes us from an unbeliever to a believer. From just hearing about Jesus to really knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior.

We all have those “When Jesus Became Real to Me” moments. It happens more then once, but like our first love, it’s memorable, this is our testimony. These moments in my life (especially the first) changed my life. Let me ask you - “When Did Jesus Become Real To You?”

Prayer

Thank you Lord for setting the stage for a glorious walk with You. The Bible becomes real in my life and You become real in me everyday. My prayer is that I keep my eyes on You. Amen.
